Some Things Never Change.. or do they?

Y'all may have noticed I use A LOT of store brand items! I can not tell the difference between A LOT of name brands and Kroger brand. One thing I can tell a difference between is MAYO. I stick to good'ole Blue Plate. My mom has always used it and only it.

Surprisingly, in a little over 9 months Ben and I have just used 1 thing of Blue Plate Mayo. I had noticed last week we were getting low. When I was at the grocery store I picked up another jar. I was excited to find it was on sale!! I saved 30 cents! When I got home and was throwing the empty away I noticed a difference in the two jars. My new jar was smaller. It comes to find out the ounces have gone from 32oz to 30oz. The price however has not changed.  :(   I love my  Blue Plate..but am sad to see that I am getting less for my money! I

My favorite roast & corn on cobb!

So Ben's family came over for supper last night. I wanted to make something I know they might like. Since Susan makes roast a lot I thought I would try my FAVORITE roast recipe!!
In addition to the roast I made fresh corn on the Cobb and green beans as my sides! I really liked making fresh corn on the cobb!! Fresh corn with a little butter was delicious!! I have to remember to do fresh corn more often!!

I have blogged this roast recipe in the past. For the recipe check out my older posts!  I recommend trying this roast, even if you don't like roast!

I LIKE IT...I LOVE IT...I WANT SOME MORE OF IT!!

I cooked Skillet Ravioli Pizza for the first time on April 16th. I just posted it yesterday to my blog. After posting it yesterday..it made me want some. The Skillet Ravioli was soo good I wanted it tonight!
I still had PLENTY of pepperoni from the last time I made this and I had the cheese. All I had to buy at the store was the red sauce and cheese ravioli ($5 total for both those @ Kroger).  I bought stuff for a C-salad and we had broccoli salad!  Waaala! Yummy!

Skillet Ravioli Pizza

LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED this RECIPE! I cooked this on 4/16/13.
This recipe was EASY and soo good! I have never COOKED ravioli, but I am really glad I tried it! I loved the cheese ravioli! Ben even said he would take the leftovers to work the next day! You know it is good when Ben is willing to eat it the next day!

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups water
1 (24-oz) package frozen small ravioli
1 tablespoon butter
1 3/4 cups marinara or pasta sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
20 pepperoni slices

Steps
  1. Combine water, ravioli, and butter in large sauté pan. Cover and bring to boil on high.
  2. Remove lid when boiling; reduce to medium-high. Cook 5–6 minutes, stirring often (to avoid pasta sticking) or until most of liquid is absorbed.
  3. Stir marinara sauce into ravioli; reduce to low. Cook 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, or until pasta is hot and tender.
  4. Spread ravioli evenly into single layer. Sprinkle with cheese and arrange pepperoni slices over top. Cover and cook 3–4 minutes or until cheese melts. Serve.

Patty Melt Pizza

Had to go into Publix other day to pick up something specific. As you may know I do all my shopping at Kroger. My father works at Kroger that is just one of the many reasons I shop there. Anyway, I picked some Aprons Recipes at Publix and this was one of them! Thanks to Apron's Simple Meals for this recipe! I will say that it is really neat that Publix has Aprons! Their recipes are great! I have been searching through them!

1 teaspoon caraway seeds
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup shredded Italian six-cheese blend
1/3 cup Thousand Island dressing
7 thin slices reduced-fat sharp Cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Steps

  1. Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Add ground beef, seasoned salt, and pepper; brown 5–7 minutes, stirring to crumble meat, or until no pink remains. Stir in steak sauce; remove meat from pan.
  1. Place pizza crust directly on oven rack; cook 7–8 minutes or until slightly crisp.
  1. Place butter in same pan, then add onions, caraway seeds, and Worcestershire sauce; cook 8–10 minutes or until soft and well browned.
  1. Place pizza crust on baking sheet. Combine shredded cheese and dressing; spread over crust. Arrange meat over dressing; spread onions over meat. Top with Cheddar cheese and return to oven; bake 4–5 minutes or until cheese melts. Slice pizza and serve.
